The Benefits

Hyaluronic acid is known for its powerful hygroscopic properties: it is capable of binding a large quantity of water molecules – explaining the nick name “molecular sponge” – forming extremely viscous solutions which produce an excellent hydrating effect. In skin it plays a physiological role of a reservoir by retaining water in the dermis and a mechanical role of damper to improve the biomechanical properties of the skin such as suppleness, firmness and wrinkle filling.
